Role Description
The Hire Desk Controller role at Speedy Hire is a full-time, on-site position based in Aberdeen. In this role, the individual will:

- Handle incoming customer enquiries
- Prepare hire quotations
- Process orders
- Arrange equipment deliveries and collections

The Hire Desk Controller will coordinate closely with the depot team to ensure availability of tools and equipment, maintain accurate records, and update systems with hire details. Day-to-day tasks include:
- Managing the hire schedule
- Resolving customer queries
- Supporting account managers
- Providing clear, professional communication to customers and colleagues
The role also involves:
- Promoting appropriate products and services
- Ensuring compliance with safety procedures
- Contributing to a positive, efficient depot environment
Qualifications
- Experience in customer service or hire desk operations, with strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with scheduling and booking systems, maintaining accurate data and documentation
- Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple enquiries, orders, and deadlines
- Problem-solving skills to address customer issues and coordinate solutions with the depot team
- Basic knowledge of tools, plant, or equipment hire (or willingness to learn) and an understanding of safety practices
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, on-site environment and collaborating effectively with colleagues
- Numeracy skills for preparing quotations, pricing hires, and checking invoices
- Previous experience in logistics, construction, or equipment hire is beneficial but not essential
