Role Description
We're looking for an organised, proactive and customer-focused Hire & Transport Controller to join our team at our West Thurrock depot.
Working alongside our busy office team, you'll play a key role in coordinating the hire and transport of our forklift fleet while supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the business. This is a varied role where no two days are the same, and you'll work closely with customers, engineers, drivers and colleagues to deliver the high level of service Bronze Mechanical Handling is known for.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and coordinating transport
- Managing hire enquiries
- Preparing quotations and hire contracts
- Arranging deliveries and collections
- Monitoring fleet availability
- Keeping customers informed of delivery schedules
- Ensuring accurate records are maintained across our business systems
You'll also support the administration of maintenance contracts, produce customer fleet reports, update manufacturer and industry portals, and help ensure our sales and hire processes run efficiently from enquiry through to delivery.
What we're looking for
- Experience in a hire, transport, logistics or service coordination role would be an advantage.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Strong communication skills with a confident and professional approach to customers and colleagues.
- A proactive mindset with the ability to solve problems and adapt in a fast paced environment.
- Good IT skills and confidence using Microsoft Office and business management systems.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- A positive, team-oriented attitude and willingness to support colleagues across the business.
- Experience within the forklift, plant or commercial vehicle industry would be beneficial, although full training will be provided.
