HLTA & Play and Enrichment Lead - Lambeth - £130-£180 per day - Primary School - After October Half term 2nd November
The Position - HLTA & Play and Enrichment Lead
A welcoming primary school in Lambeth is seeking an enthusiastic and proactive HLTA & Play and Enrichment Lead to join their team as soon as possible. This is a varied role combining classroom cover, specialist SEND support and leadership of the school's Outdoor Play and Learning (OPAL) provision.
The successful HLTA & Play and Enrichment Lead will deliver planned lessons across KS1 and KS2, provide one-to-one and small-group support within the school's specialist SEND Resource Base, and help pupils access engaging and inclusive learning experiences. You will work closely with teachers and the senior leadership team to ensure pupils receive consistent support and opportunities to succeed.
Alongside your classroom responsibilities, you will lead the development of the school's play culture, coordinate play staff, train pupil OPAL Ambassadors and engage parents and community partners. You will help develop outdoor play provision, source creative play resources and work towards achieving and maintaining high OPAL standards.

You will also coordinate the school's after-school clubs and enrichment activities, overseeing bookings, registers, participation and quality assurance. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, confident leading assemblies and meetings, and able to balance a varied workload across teaching support, play leadership and administration.
The successful candidate will be working hours of 8:30am-4:30pm, Monday to Friday, term-time only.

You will work alongside a supportive school team, helping to strengthen classroom provision, develop outdoor play opportunities and ensure pupils can access a broad range of extracurricular activities. This role would suit an experienced HLTA or education professional who is passionate about SEND support, outdoor learning and making a positive difference to children's school experience.
The ideal candidate will hold HLTA status or an equivalent Level 4 qualification, have experience working with primary-aged children and demonstrate a strong understanding of safeguarding, inclusion and positive behaviour management. A recognised Playwork qualification and GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/C or equivalent are required. Experience with OPAL, Forest School or other enrichment activities would be highly desirable.
