HNW Development Underwriter

Location: Flexible / Hybrid

Salary: Up to £80,000 + Benefits

Type: Full-Time, Permanent

About Us

We are a fast-growing Managing General Agent (MGA) specialising in High Net Worth insurance solutions. Backed by leading capacity partners, we combine underwriting expertise with a genuinely entrepreneurial culture, giving our people real ownership over how the business grows. As we continue to expand our HNW proposition, we're looking for an ambitious Development Underwriter to help drive that growth forward.

The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented underwriter to step into a development-focused role at the heart of our High Net Worth division. You'll take ownership of a portfolio of broker relationships, identifying and converting new business opportunities while nurturing existing partnerships to build a profitable, sustainable book of HNW business.

You'll work closely with senior underwriters and the wider distribution team, playing a key role in shaping our HNW strategy, pricing approach, and broker proposition as the business scales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Underwrite new business and renewals across a High Net Worth household portfolio, exercising sound technical judgement within agreed authority limits
  • Build, develop, and manage a panel of broker relationships, acting as a trusted point of contact and technical resource
  • Proactively identify new business opportunities and drive profitable growth across your allocated territory or panel
  • Conduct broker visits, training sessions, and presentations to strengthen relationships and promote the HNW proposition
  • Assess risk quality, pricing, terms, and conditions in line with underwriting appetite and referral guidelines
  • Monitor portfolio performance, providing MI and insight to support strategic decision-making
  • Support the development of new products, wordings, and pricing initiatives alongside senior underwriting colleagues
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements, underwriting standards, and internal governance

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
