Holiday Scheme Assistant

Location: SpArC, Bishops Castle, SY9 5AY

Salary: £12.71 per hour plus excellent benefits

Schedule: Casual contract, flexible shifts between 8.30am – 4pm, Monday to Friday.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, customer-focused individual to join our team as a Holiday Scheme Assistant.

As a Holiday Scheme Assistant, you’ll:

  • Play a hands-on role in creating safe, fun, and engaging holiday activities for children and young people in the local community.
  • Before, during, and after school holidays, support young people to stay active, build confidence, and enjoy their time in a welcoming, inclusive environment.

This role is practical and rewarding. You’ll help deliver sports sessions, arts & crafts, games and craft activities, ensuring each child leaves with positive memories.

Your Responsibilities

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Delivering safe and engaging sports, arts, and craft activities aligned with the programme.
  • Supporting a high-quality holiday scheme provision by collaborating closely with colleagues.
  • Engaging positively with children to ensure an enjoyable, inclusive, and supportive atmosphere.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation in line with site procedures.
  • Following the safeguarding rules at all times, complying with company policies.
  • Completing any additional duties relevant to the role.

Requirements

This role suits individuals with:

  • An understanding of holiday scheme provisions and activity delivery.
  • Strong communication and customer care skills.
  • Good organisation with the ability to manage multiple activities at once.
  • The confidence to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A flexible, adaptable and enthusiastic approach to working with children.

Vetting & Checks

  • Enhanced DBS check is required (including spent and unspent convictions & cautions) under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and safeguarding legislation.
  • Completion of Occupational Health Questionnaire to determine any additional support needs.
