Summary

We are looking for a Holidays Cottage Cleaner to help prepare and care for our beautiful popular National Trust Holiday cottages across the North Devon area, including locations such as Mortehoe, Combe Martin, Watersmeet, and Countisbury.

Salary: £12.75 per hour

Contract: Fixed term contract until 30-Sep-2027

Hours/ working pattern: This is a flexible, zero-hour contract, meaning we are unable to guarantee a set number of hours each week; however, we aim to provide a consistent working pattern where possible. Flexibility is essential, as schedules may change depending on business needs, although we will endeavour to give as much notice as possible.

Typical shifts are between 10:00am and 3:00pm. Changeover days can fall between Monday and Saturday, depending on the cottages you are responsible for. The role includes working weekends and Bank Holidays, but does not require evening, Sunday, or split shifts.

Rotas are issued in advance, and we try to accommodate other commitments where possible.

Please consider your travel arrangements carefully, as many of our cottages are in rural locations with limited public transport links.

Internally within the National Trust, you will be known as a 'Holidays Operation Assistant'.

For this role, you’ll need to complete our online assessment instead of using a C.V. or online application form. This will help us understand more about your strengths and give you more information on the role.

What You'll Be Doing

On changeover days, you’ll make sure that everything’s pristine and ready for the next guests to arrive. This will include making sure the cottage is thoroughly cleaned, well-presented, and welcoming. We’d also like you to keep an eye out for anything that’s not as it should be, and report any repairs or odd jobs that need doing. If you need to, you’ll also replace any broken items from the store supplies.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
