Your role
Are you an experienced data engineer with strong Databricks expertise and an interest in financial analytics and production-grade data platforms?
We’re looking for a Databricks Engineer to support the design, orchestration, and reliability of HOLT data pipelines across HOLT’s Data Warehouse and R&D Databricks environments. You’ll work within UBS’s Data Production Factory to help ensure HOLT’s workflows are scalable, governed, secure, and production-ready.

You will:

- Provision, configure, and support Databricks platform services, including clusters, catalogs, secrets, monitoring, and alerting
- Support deployment workflows, pipeline orchestration, and data product lifecycle management
- Maintain and optimize cluster strategies for reliability, performance, and cost efficiency
- Troubleshoot production issues across jobs, clusters, permissions, and workflow dependencies
- Help standardize execution patterns across development, pre-production, and production environments
- Coordinate sequencing and dependency management for multi-step data workflows
- Support the productization of new data products, models, and analytical processes
- Maintain operational runbooks and recovery procedures for business-developed compute
- Support the stability of long-running jobs, notebooks, and dashboards
- Align HOLT R&D workflows with production Data Warehouse standards
- Work with HOLT researchers on analytical and research-driven data initiatives
- Contribute to the modernization of HOLT’s data ingest, quality control, and internal platform workflows
- Support broader UBS initiatives to modernize and standardize client access to research and data

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
