Home Administrator
Location: Harpenden, AL5
Salary: £28,000 per annum
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, with flexible start and finish times by agreement with the Home Manager
The Role
We are seeking an organised and proactive Home Administrator to support the day-to-day operations of a busy care home. This is a varied role combining administration, finance, HR support, and customer service responsibilities, making it ideal for an experienced administrator looking for a rewarding position within a caring and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing general office administration and correspondence.
- Maintaining accurate staff and resident records.
- Supporting recruitment, onboarding, DBS checks, and compliance processes.
- Processing timesheets and liaising with payroll and finance teams.
- Monitoring staff training, annual leave, and sickness records.
- Handling enquiries from prospective residents and their families.
- Managing petty cash and supporting invoicing and other financial administration.
- Organising meetings, managing diaries, and taking minutes when required.
- Acting as the first point of contact for visitors, residents, families, and professionals.
- Providing administrative support to the Home Manager and wider management team.

About You
- Previous experience in administration, office management, bookkeeping, or a similar role.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and customer service abilities.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Professional, approachable, and able to work independently.
- Experience within care, healthcare, or a regulated environment is desirable but not essential.
