Job Title: Home Care Fabric Cleaning Lead - UKI
Location: Sunlight House, Kingston
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a rare opportunity to lead one of the most important growth engines in Unilever Home Care UKI. Fabric Cleaning is our largest category in the UK and home to two iconic, much-loved brands: Persil and Surf. As Senior Marketing Manager, you will own the growth agenda for these brands, bringing together the magic of brand building, creativity, cultural relevance, science, and consumer desire with the discipline of sharp portfolio choices, brilliant execution, and clear P&L accountability.
Persil is the UK’s leading Fabric Cleaning brand, built on the globally recognised Dirt Is Good platform and trusted by millions of households for superior cleaning performance and purposeful brand building. Surf is the UK’s leading fragrance-led laundry brand, known for its sensorial experiences, strong value proposition, and distinctive, playful personality that connects with consumers emotionally.
You will lead a high-value, high-visibility portfolio at a pivotal moment: accelerating the next phase of the Wonder Wash platform, strengthening the core equity of Persil and Surf, and unlocking category growth through distinctive innovation, unmissable brand experiences, and disciplined commercial choices. The ambition is clear: build brands consumers desire, create experiences people remember, and deliver innovation that converts into measurable P&L growth.
This is a senior leadership role with significant exposure to UKI Home Care leadership, European Business Unit teams, and Global Brand teams. It is ideal for a commercially sharp, consumer-obsessed, and entrepreneurial marketing leader who can balance big brand ambition with rigorous execution, inspire a team, and make a visible impact at scale.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Deliver profitable portfolio growth: Own the growth agenda for Persil and Surf, setting the strategic direction for the Fabric Cleaning portfolio and delivering measurable performance across market share, turnover, mix, margin, profitability, and brand health.
- Build brands that create desire: Bring the magic of Persil and Surf to life through distinctive positioning, culturally relevant communications, memorable consumer experiences, and brand propositions that strengthen equity and convert consumer desire into business growth.
- Shape innovation and brilliant execution: Lead the innovation and renovation pipeline from strategy to launch, making disciplined choices on where to play, how to win, and where to invest, while partnering with Sales, CSP, Category, Shopper, CMI, Finance, and NRM to turn brand strategy into brilliant customer, channel, and in-market execution.
- Lead with senior influence and business impact: Influence stakeholders across UKI, Europe, and Global teams, embed the UK growth agenda into broader business priorities, and create the alignment needed to move fast and deliver at scale.
- Lead the team and culture to win: Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team with clarity, energy, and ownership, creating a culture that combines entrepreneurial pace, consumer obsession, creative ambition, and the discipline to deliver brilliant execution.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Recruitment Fraud
Cyber criminals advertise fake job adverts with prestigious employers as a way of stealing information or even defrauding individuals out of money. In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever. They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs. These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate.
How is Unilever tackling this?
Many of Unilever’s recruitment sites publish a warning to candidates about recruitment fraud. The Cyber Security team also proactively scans for signs of people setting up fake Unilever sites and act to close them down.
What can I do?
If you become aware of potential recruitment fraud, spot fake Unilever recruitment adverts, or fake LinkedIn profiles, report them via Una Live Chat.
Unilever does not accept responsibility or liability for any candidates who are financially impacted by recruitment fraud. Your vigilance is key!
