Join us in our fantastic role of Home Condition Surveyor and support us to deliver on our customer promise through providing high standards of repairs and a safe place to live for our customers. You’ll carry out stock condition surveys across our rented properties covering the North East area, using this survey data to inform our planned maintenance programme of repairs.

What You’ll Do
- Completing surveys our properties, ensuring we have up-to-date records on the conditions of our housing stock including kitchen, and bathrooms to roofs and garden walls.
- Working closely with our Maintenance Surveyors to understand common defects and issues in our properties, collecting relevant data.
- Building great relationships with our customers, listening to their feedback. You’ll help drive sustainability, supporting our customers to manage their homes effectively through providing advice on energy usage in their properties. You’ll also help customers raise any emergency repairs to ensure that their property and themselves are safe.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across Home Group as well as contractors, checking repairs work has been completed on our customers homes to a high standard

You have
- An HND/HNC in a relevant construction discipline or equivalent professional experience.
- A good knowledge of stock condition surveys and using information and data to inform planned maintenance programmes.
- Knowledge of housing repairs, improvements, building regulations and the housing health and safety rating system (HHSRS). You’ll also understand sustainability and how it’s importance in social housing to inform the way you work. It would be great if you are already a registered energy assessor or if not, willing to become one with our support.
- An eye for detail, comfortable working on your own in our customers homes and managing your own workload.
- You’ll have a full current driving licence and your own car as you’ll travel and work from our estates. We’ll pay for your mileage at work.

The practical bits
- We work Monday to Friday. The great news is that you’ll be able to shape your own diary.
- You’ll work mainly on our estates covering the North East area with some days in our office at Strawberry Lane in Newcastle city centre, others working at home.
- You must be able to use technology for completing surveys and collecting robust data to inform others, completing online learning and collaborating with other colleagues.
- You’ll need a Standard DBS check done and we pay for that.
