Blue Diamond Garden Centres is the UK’s leading garden centre group, with 53 centres across the UK and Channel Islands. The group owns six UK-based nurseries that grow and supply plants exclusively for its centres, ensuring quality and variety for customers. Blue Diamond also offers its own brand of Fryer’s Roses, known for their distinctive quality. The company is the owner of Bridgemere Show Gardens, an RHS Partner Garden set in six acres, featuring award-winning show gardens, including RHS Chelsea Gold medal winners. Team members join a growing, well-established business with a strong reputation in horticulture and retail.

Role Description

The Home Department Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based at the Blue Diamond Garden Centre in Northampton. This role is responsible for overseeing the Home Department’s daily operations, including merchandising, stock management, and maintaining high presentation standards. The supervisor will lead and motivate the department team, organize staff schedules, and provide coaching to support excellent customer service.

Qualifications

  • Retail operations and supervisory skills, including team leadership, staff scheduling, and performance management.
  • Customer service and communication skills, with the ability to engage customers, resolve issues, and build customer loyalty.
  • Merchandising and stock control skills, including organizing displays, managing inventory, and supporting seasonal changes.
  • Organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic IT and administrative skills, including use of point-of-sale systems and standard office software.
  • Previous experience in retail, homewares, or garden centre environments is highly beneficial.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and peak trading periods, as required by the centre.
  • A genuine interest in home products, lifestyle retail, and creating an engaging customer experience.
