HOME MANAGER - Elderly Care Home - Aberdeen
Compass Associates are supporting an established elderly care provider in the appointment of a Registered Home Manager for a well-established care home in Aberdeen.
This is an important leadership appointment for a service with strong foundations and a clear opportunity for further improvement. The incoming Home Manager will be responsible for providing visible, credible leadership, strengthening consistency across the service and driving a sustained focus on quality, governance and resident outcomes.
The role will particularly suit an experienced Home Manager who is confident taking ownership of improvement, leading teams through change and translating clear expectations into measurable results.
The Role
As Registered Home Manager, you will:
- Take full responsibility for the day-to-day leadership and operational performance of the home
- Provide visible and decisive leadership across the care and clinical teams
- Lead structured improvement activity across quality, governance and service delivery
- Strengthen clinical oversight, safeguarding and regulatory compliance
- Develop and embed robust action plans, ensuring improvements are sustained
- Lead, coach and develop the management and wider staff teams
- Build strong relationships with residents, families, professionals and external stakeholders
- Manage budgets, staffing, occupancy and wider commercial performance
- Promote a culture of accountability, learning and continuous improvement
- Ensure residents receive safe, compassionate and consistently high-quality care

About You
To be considered for this role, you must:
- Be NMC registered (RGN / RMN / RNLD) ideally
- Have substantial leadership experience within elderly nursing care
- Demonstrate a strong track record of improving quality and service performance
- Be confident leading services through periods of change or improvement
- Have a strong understanding of clinical governance, safeguarding and regulatory requirements
- Be experienced in developing teams and establishing clear standards and accountability
- Be commercially aware, with experience managing budgets, staffing and operational performance
- Possess excellent communication, influencing and decision-making skills
- Be a visible, resilient and credible leader who can build trust while maintaining high expectations
- Experience of turnaround, service recovery or leading measurable improvement within a care home environment would be particularly valuable.
