Home Manager Job Opportunity | Windmill Lodge Care Home, 205-beds | Lancashire

£80,000–£85,000 per annum + Annual Bonus up to 40% of Salary + Private Medical Insurance

Windmill Lodge needs an experienced Home Manager with a proven record of turnaround who can turn a clear improvement plan into consistent, high-quality care. This is a substantial leadership opportunity for someone who understands clinical governance, develops people and takes ownership of results.

Our purpose-built home in Lytham St Annes provides residential, nursing and dementia care across three floors. With capacity for 205 residents, the role calls for sound judgement, strong organisation and a visible presence throughout the home.

You will join at an important stage in the service’s development, with priorities spanning quality, regulatory compliance, team capability and sustainable occupancy growth.

Contract

  • £80,000–£85,000 per annum
  • Opportunity to earn up to 40% of salary through an annual bonus
  • Private Medical Insurance

  • 5.6 weeks’ annual leave

The Role

You will lead the day-to-day operation of Windmill Lodge, making sure residents receive safe, person-centred care and colleagues understand the standards expected of them. Working with the Deputy Manager and operational team, you will build confidence, strengthen accountability and ensure improvement is sustained.

  • Deliver the improvement plan, strengthen governance and maintain oversight of regulatory compliance.
  • Improve clinical practice through effective supervision, practical training and follow-through.
  • Coach the Deputy Manager and wider team, develop capability and future leaders.
  • Build constructive relationships with families, commissioners and regulators.
  • Grow occupancy safely, with staffing and resources matched to residents’ needs.
  • Manage budgets, recruitment and retention, maintaining the home’s zero-agency workforce as occupancy grows.

About You

You will be an experienced Home Manager with a proven record of leading a care home through turnaround and managing a large or complex service. You will bring a strong understanding of nursing and dementia care, with evidence of sustained improvement in quality, regulatory compliance and operational performance.

A strong clinical background is highly desirable. You must be able to recognise risk, challenge poor practice and ensure learning leads to better care.

We are looking for someone approachable, resilient and clear in their expectations. You lead from the front, support your team and know when to seek advice.
