Registered Home Manager | Specialist Dementia Care

Gravesend, Kent
£85,000 - £95,000 per annum + Up to 50% Annual Bonus + £10,000 Welcome Bonus + Private Medical Insurance

Compass Associates are exclusively supporting the appointment of a Registered Home Manager for a large, purpose-built specialist dementia care home in Gravesend, Kent.

The Role

The 76-bedded home provides specialist residential and nursing care for residents with complex and advanced dementia needs, alongside palliative and respite care. The home has been designed around the needs of people living with dementia, with dedicated care and nursing teams, secure outdoor spaces and a strong focus on person-centred care.

The successful Home Manager will provide strong, visible leadership across the service, ensuring high standards of care while developing the team, strengthening the culture and driving continued improvements across the home.

Responsibilities

  • Leading, developing and supporting the senior team and wider workforce.
  • Maintaining high standards of care, governance and compliance.
  • Driving a positive and consistent culture across the service.
  • Ensuring strong CQC and regulatory compliance.
  • Managing safeguarding, risk and quality assurance.
  • Supporting recruitment, retention and staff development.
  • Managing budgets, staffing levels and overall operational performance.
  • Building strong relationships with residents, relatives and external professionals.
  • Ensuring residents remain at the heart of every decision.

About You

You will be an experienced Home Manager with a strong background in complex dementia, specialist nursing, high-acuity care or another challenging care environment.

You may be nurse-qualified, but this is not essential. We are looking for a credible operational leader with substantial experience managing a complex care service and a genuine understanding of advanced dementia care.

You will be a visible and hands-on leader who is confident setting standards, developing teams and driving accountability, while having the emotional intelligence to bring people with you through change.

Ideal Experience

  • Experience managing a large care home or complex care service.
  • Strong experience supporting residents with complex or advanced dementia.
  • A proven track record of delivering high standards of care.
  • Experience with CQC compliance, governance and quality assurance.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Experience managing performance, recruitment and staff development.
  • The ability to build effective relationships with families and external professionals.
  • A strong understanding of operational and commercial performance.

Package

  • Salary of £85,000 - £95,000 per annum.
  • Up to 50% annual performance bonus.
  • £10,000 welcome bonus.
  • Private Medical Insurance.
  • Pension scheme.
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave.
  • Full-time permanent position.

Location

The home is based in Gravesend, Kent, offering convenient access across Kent and South East London. The location is well connected for candidates commuting from Dartford, Rochester, Strood, Bexley, Sevenoaks, Swanley, Greenhithe, Sidcup and Orpington, with good road links via the A2, M2 and M25.

Gravesend also benefits from strong rail connections, making the area accessible for candidates travelling from across Kent and the wider South East.
