I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

You will also develop the home’s leadership team, strengthen recruitment and retention, manage budgets effectively and ensure that operational and commercial performance remains aligned with exceptional resident care.
This is an opportunity to shape the future of a relatively new home; building on what has already been achieved and turning its considerable potential into long-term success.
About You
You are an experienced, nurse-qualified care home leader with a successful record of leading nursing and residential services.
You understand the opportunities and challenges associated with a newly opened or growing care home. You have experience increasing occupancy, building a home’s local reputation and developing strong relationships with external stakeholders and referral partners.
You bring a detailed understanding of CQC regulations, clinical governance, safeguarding and quality assurance. You know how to translate policies and expectations into safe, consistent everyday practice and how to create a culture of continuous improvement before concerns arise.
You have demonstrated your ability to recruit, engage and develop high-performing teams. Your leadership style is visible, inclusive and supportive, but you are equally comfortable setting clear standards and holding people accountable.

Above all, you are an ambitious and compassionate leader who can see the potential in Bluebell View and inspire others to help realise it.
