Home Manager - Dementia & Nursing Care

Location: Perthshire
Salary: £60,000 + Benefits
Employment Type: Full-Time Permanent


Compass Associates are working in partnership with an established and respected care provider to recruit a Care Home Manager for a well-established service in Perthshire. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced care professional to take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of a dementia and nursing care service.

The Role

As Care Home Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the operational, clinical and commercial performance of the service. You will lead the team to deliver high standards of person-centred care while ensuring the home remains compliant with all relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading and developing the management and care teams
  • Maintaining high standards of care, governance and safeguarding
  • Ensuring compliance with Care Inspectorate requirements and relevant legislation
  • Managing budgets, occupancy, staffing and day-to-day operations
  • Working closely with residents, relatives and multidisciplinary professionals
  • Driving continuous improvement across the service
  • Supporting recruitment, retention and development of the wider team
  • Building a positive and accountable culture across the home

About You

The successful candidate will have significant experience managing a care home, ideally within elderly dementia and nursing care. You will ideally hold an RGN or RMN qualification and have a strong understanding of nursing care for older people, dementia and frailty. You should also have a strong working knowledge of the Care Inspectorate, relevant legislation and quality standards.

You will need to demonstrate:

  • Previous experience in a Care Home Manager or equivalent senior management position
  • Strong experience within elderly care, dementia and nursing services
  • Relevant nursing qualification, ideally RGN or RMN
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and quality requirements
  • Experience managing budgets, occupancy and operational performance
  • Experience leading, developing and retaining care teams
  • A track record of service improvement and maintaining high standards
  • SVQ Level 4 or equivalent management qualification
