Compass Associates are delighted to be working with a quality-focused care provider who are looking to appoint an experienced, permanent Home Manager to lead a residential and dementia care home. The home offers long-term and respite care.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Home Manager to take on a large, fully occupied home. The home is looking for a visible, relationship-led leader who can build on its strengths, maintain high operational standards day to day and continue to raise the quality of care.
The Role
As Home Manager, you will lead a large residential and dementia care home, reporting to the Regional Operations Director. The home is fully occupied, with a mix of private and local authority funded residents. You will lead and develop the team, embed a culture of continuous improvement and ensure every resident receives person-centred, dignified care.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the day-to-day running of the home to a consistently high operational standard
- Ensuring compliance with CQC requirements, statutory regulations and company policies, and driving continued quality improvement
- Ensuring care plans are complete, person-centred and cover all aspects of residents' needs
- Leading, supervising and developing the team, including recruitment, training, performance and mentoring
- Building strong relationships with residents, families, GPs, community nurses, pharmacists, local authorities and regulators
- Managing health and safety, risk assessment, infection control, medication governance and safeguarding
- Managing occupancy, revenue, staffing costs and budgets, with a focus on sustainability and growing private occupancy
- Providing regular quality reporting to senior management and the CQC

Requirements
- Strong care home management experience, ideally from a residential background
- A proven track record of delivering good quality outcomes and strong CQC performance
- Strong CQC and regulatory knowledge
- Commercial awareness around occupancy, capacity and sustainability
- Experience of increasing private-fee occupancy would be advantageous
- Strong people leadership, with the ability to build trust and engagement
- A calm, visible and relationship-led style, balanced with the ability to be appropriately direct when required
- A management qualification (such as a QCF or equivalent) is desirable
