Compass Associates are exclusively supporting the appointment of a Registered Home Manager for a specialist care service in Kingston upon Thames, supporting adults with complex neurological, physical and long-term conditions.
The 36-bed service provides specialist nursing care alongside rehabilitation programmes, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to support individuals with complex needs.
This is a Registered Home Manager position within a care home environment, with the added complexity of a specialist neuro-rehabilitation service. The successful candidate will therefore need to combine strong care home management experience with the clinical credibility and leadership skills required to operate within a highly specialist setting.
The successful Home Manager will take overall responsibility for the safe and effective running of the service, leading the team, maintaining strong CQC compliance and governance, and driving continued improvements across quality, people and operational performance.
The Role
As Registered Home Manager, you will provide visible and hands-on leadership across the service, including:
- Taking overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the home.
- Maintaining high standards of care, governance and CQC compliance.
- Leading and developing the senior team and wider workforce.
- Overseeing safeguarding, risk management, complaints, incidents and quality assurance.
- Ensuring effective care planning and person-centred outcomes.
- Working closely with the multidisciplinary team to support high-quality rehabilitation and care.
- Supporting recruitment, retention, supervision and staff development.
- Building strong relationships with residents, families and external professionals.
- Managing staffing levels, budgets and overall operational performance.
- Driving continuous improvement across the home.
- Working closely with the wider leadership team to support the continued development of the service.

About You
You will be an experienced Registered Home Manager or Registered Manager with a strong background in complex care, specialist nursing, rehabilitation or another clinically demanding care environment.
You don't necessarily need to have managed a neuro-rehabilitation service previously. What is important is that you understand what it takes to run a regulated care home, are confident with CQC and clinical governance, and have the leadership capability to manage a service supporting individuals with complex needs.
You will be a visible and hands-on leader who can balance care home management, clinical oversight, governance and people leadership, while working effectively alongside a multidisciplinary team.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience managing a registered care home or specialist care service.
- Strong experience within complex care, specialist nursing, rehabilitation or a similar environment.
- NMC registration or another relevant clinical qualification.
- Strong knowledge of CQC regulations, governance and quality assurance.
- Experience managing safeguarding, clinical risk, audits and compliance.
- Experience leading and developing multidisciplinary or clinically focused teams.
- Strong people-management and leadership skills.
- A proven track record of maintaining and improving standards within a regulated service.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care, or equivalent.

The service is based in Kingston upon Thames, with good access across South West London, Surrey and the surrounding areas.
The location is accessible for candidates travelling from Kingston, Surbiton, Richmond, Twickenham, Wimbledon, Epsom, Esher, Weybridge, Leatherhead and surrounding areas.
