Hiring a Home Risk Pricing Manager
I'm hiring a Home Risk Pricing Manager for a leading UK insurer with a strong reputation for investing in pricing, analytics, and data science.
This role sits within the Home Pricing function and offers a blend of pricing strategy, analytical problem-solving, and team leadership, supporting the delivery of profitable growth across the home insurance portfolio.
The Role
Reporting into the Senior Home Risk Pricing Manager, you'll play a key role in shaping pricing strategy for the home insurance book.
This isn't a pure modelling role. Instead, you'll use models, data, and pricing insight to make commercial decisions about how pricing should be adjusted to drive growth and profitability. You'll spend roughly half your time leading and coaching analysts, with the remainder focused on hands-on pricing analysis and strategy.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead and develop a small team of pricing analysts
- Analyse policy, quote, claims, market and risk data to identify pricing opportunities
- Develop and deliver pricing insights to improve profitability and growth
- Work closely with Data Science, Actuarial, Underwriting and Engineering teams
- Critically review pricing and risk models developed by actuaries and data scientists
- Translate model outputs into effective pricing strategies and actions
- Identify customer segments where pricing can be optimised
- Support peer reviews, coaching and mentoring across the team

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
