We are recruiting on behalf of an established homecare provider looking for a confident and supportive Team Leader to help maintain high standards of care across its community services.
This is a hands-on, field-based position combining staff supervision, competency assessments, quality monitoring and occasional direct care. You will act as an important link between care workers and the office team, ensuring staff feel supported and service users consistently receive safe, dignified and person-centred care.

The Role
As Homecare Team Leader, you will provide day-to-day guidance and professional support to care workers in the community.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Supporting and supervising care workers in the field
- Acting as a positive role model and promoting consistent best practice
- Completing competency assessments for new and existing staff
- Carrying out spot checks and care observations in service users’ homes
- Reviewing care notes, digital records and other documentation
- Identifying performance gaps and providing practical coaching and guidance
- Supporting new starters during induction, shadowing and probation
- Monitoring staff during medication rounds and checking that MAR documentation is completed correctly
- Escalating safeguarding, medication, quality or safety concerns promptly
- Ensuring care is delivered in accordance with care plans, risk assessments and company procedures
- Using digital care-planning and medication systems to update records
- Supporting the continued development, confidence and retention of care staff
- Providing direct care during emergencies or periods of staff shortage when required
- Participating in a shared on-call rota and responding to out-of-hours issues

About You
This position would suit an experienced Senior Care Assistant, Field Care Supervisor or Homecare Team Leader who enjoys developing others while remaining actively involved in care delivery.
You Will Need
- Previous experience within homecare or community care
- A full UK driving licence
- A strong understanding of person-centred care and safeguarding
- Confidence supporting, coaching and supervising care workers
- Excellent communication, observation and organisational skills
- The ability to complete competency assessments, spot checks and quality audits
- A professional and calm approach to resolving problems
- Confidence using digital systems, or a willingness to learn
- Flexibility to participate in an on-call rota and provide direct care when necessary

It Would Be Advantageous To Have
- A Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, or to be working towards one
- Previous experience mentoring or supervising care staff
- Knowledge of medication support and safe administration procedures
- An understanding of CQC standards and quality monitoring
