Homeless Service Support Worker
Based at Ashkirk, Sunderland
Salary
£29,0005 per annum
Hours
37 hrs per week. Monday to Saturday (Saturdays on a rota basis)
Contract
Permanent.
Closing Date
5PM on Friday, 4th of September 2026.

This role will involve:
- Completing and regularly updating needs assessments for our residents
- Completing and regularly updating Risk assessments for our residents
- Working with internal and external partners to support residents to find long term housing solutions.
- Working with Sunderland council housing options team.
- Supporting other agencies in their work with our residents.
- Processing relevant paperwork around moving people in and out of our properties.
- Keeping and updating records accurately and in a timely manner.
- Regular case work to address and support any vulnerabilities the resident may have.
- Safeguarding case work (both adult and children).
Your Experience
Successful candidates will need:
Essential
- Full current driving licence and have access to a car for business use
- Good standard of general education
- Demonstrable experience of safeguarding practice
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal
Desirable
- Demonstrable experience of working in a housing related support service
- Advanced IT skills
