We're looking for a compassionate, resilient and motivated Homeless Support Officer to join our team at Erw Groes, where you'll play a vital role helping vulnerable adults and families move towards greater independence, stability and wellbeing.
About The Role
We currently have two opportunities available:
- 1 x permanent role - 28 hours per week
- 1 x Fixed Term Contract until May 2027 - 37 hours per week

Erw Groes is a 24-hour supported housing service that provides safe, secure accommodation for vulnerable families and individuals. As part of our dedicated team, you'll deliver person-centred support that empowers residents to overcome challenges, develop life skills and build positive futures.
No two days are the same. One day you could be helping a resident access benefits or healthcare services, the next facilitating wellbeing activities, supporting someone into volunteering or employment, or working with partner agencies to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Using a trauma-informed and strengths-based approach, you'll support residents to identify their goals, build confidence, improve resilience and move successfully towards independent living and longer-term housing solutions.

What You'll Be Doing
- Building positive, professional relationships with residents and providing consistent support throughout their journey.
- Developing, reviewing and delivering person-centred support plans and risk assessments.
- Supporting residents to access education, training, volunteering and employment opportunities.
- Encouraging life skills development, independence and tenancy readiness.
- Facilitating activities that promote wellbeing, confidence, social inclusion and community engagement.
- Working closely with partner agencies including housing, health, social care and support services.
- Maintaining accurate case notes, support records and incident reporting.
- Supporting safeguarding practices and promoting the safety and wellbeing of residents.
- Undertaking housing management duties, including supporting residents with benefits, tenancy matters and rehousing pathways.
- Contributing to a safe, welcoming and supportive environment across the service.

What You'll Bring
You'll ideally have experience supporting vulnerable adults within homelessness, housing, mental health, substance misuse, domestic abuse, social care or similar support settings.
We're particularly interested in candidates with:
- Experience delivering person-centred support to vulnerable individuals.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and the impact of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs).
- Understanding of areas such as homelessness, mental health, substance misuse, VAWDASV, neurodiversity or related support services.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience managing risk, safeguarding concerns and challenging behaviours.
- Good IT skills and experience maintaining accurate records.
- An understanding of housing, benefits and tenancy sustainment would be advantageous.
