Summary
This is a 2-month contract role with a local authority, offering a daily rate of £155.60 under an umbrella arrangement. The primary aim of this position is to identify and mitigate the risk of homelessness through thorough assessment, strategic intervention, and effective case management. The role involves supporting at-risk households in finding and maintaining sustainable housing solutions.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive housing advice and support to the public, partner organizations, and internal stakeholders.
- Conduct interviews and assessments for households facing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless.
- Evaluate eligibility for assistance, determine homelessness status, assess priority needs, and establish local connections in line with current legislation.
- Create and manage Personal Housing Plans (PHPs), collaborating with applicants to outline reasonable steps to prevent or alleviate homelessness.

Requirements:
Essential Experience
- Proven experience in a homelessness, housing options, or housing advice service.
- Skilled in assessing housing needs and handling complex casework.
- Familiarity with housing legislation and statutory duties related to homelessness.
- Experience working with vulnerable individuals and households experiencing housing challenges.

Essential Qualifications
- GCSE level education (or equivalent), including English and Mathematics.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development in housing and homelessness services.
Additional Information
- Working hours are 37 hours per week.
- A basic DBS check is required.
- A valid driving license is necessary.
- The role is based at County Hall, High Street, Newport, Isle of Wight, PO30 1UD, United Kingdom.
- A minimum of three days per week is required to be worked at County Hall, Newport.
- Payments are made on a bi-weekly schedule.
