Description:
Full Time / 37 Hours Per Week / Permanent

Make a difference every day. Help create a safe place to call home.

We are looking for a dedicated and hands-on Premises Officer to join our hostel team based at the Dawn Centre. This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same.

As the Premises Officer, you’ll play a vital part in ensuring our hostel provides a safe, clean, welcoming and well-maintained environment for people experiencing homelessness. From overseeing domestic services and supporting staff, to maintaining high standards of health and safety, you'll help create a place where residents can feel secure and supported as they rebuild their lives.

This is a full-time, permanent position working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. As this is a building-based role, hybrid working is not an option, therefore you’ll need to be willing to work from the Dawn Centre every day.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Take ownership of the day-to-day operation of the hostel’s building and domestic services.
  • Lead and support a team of domestic staff, ensuring the building, grounds, and communal areas are kept clean, safe, and well maintained at all times.
  • Carry out regular health and safety checks, including fire safety and hygiene inspections, and support management with Building Responsible Officer (BRO) responsibilities.
  • Coordinate and carry out minor repairs, report maintenance issues, and manage stock levels, including ordering supplies as required.
  • Oversee laundry services, maintain adequate supplies, and prepare and serve meals where needed.
  • Respond to emergency cleaning situations and work proactively to maintain a safe environment for both residents and staff.
  • Work closely with colleagues and partner agencies to support the smooth running of the service.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is practical, organised, and confident working on their own initiative, with the ability to take a hands-on approach to day-to-day tasks. We’re particularly keen to find someone who takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer service, and who understands the importance of creating a safe and welcoming environment for all. Just as importantly, you’ll be compassionate and empathetic, with a genuine understanding of the challenges faced by people experiencing homelessness.

This role also requires a resilient and adaptable individual who can remain calm under pressure, manage competing demands, and respond positively in a fast-paced and sometimes challenging environment.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is proactive, dependable, and passionate about making a real difference.
