About the Role

The Guinness Partnership is recruiting a Homeowner Legal Services Officer on a permanent basis. This is a full time, 35 hours per week role based at our London, Euston Road office. We offer hybrid working, blending office days with working from home.

The purpose of the role is to provide a comprehensive range of specialist, conveyancing focused legal services to existing Guinness homeowners as well as tenants seeking to exercise their Right to Buy/Acquire.

What we are looking for

We are seeking a Homeowner legal services professional with working knowledge of Right to Buy, Right to Acquire and leasehold processes. The successful candidate will possess strong communication and organisational skills, attention-to-detail, and the ability to manage a varied workload whilst meeting deadlines. Strong Microsoft Office skills and experience of working collaboratively with external partners are essential. Knowledge and experience of housing management systems such as Northgate (NEC) and CRM would be desirable.

You will be able to demonstrate these essential skills:

  • An understanding of current Right to Buy and Right to Acquire legislation.
  • An understanding of legal documents, in particular leases.
  • Ability to plan and re-shape processes in response to changing customer needs.
  • Significant customer service experience.
  • Experience and understanding of working in a high-performance customer service culture.
  • Proven ability to manage a large and varied workload, meeting performance targets and deadlines under pressure.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communications.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Proven track record of working cross-functionally with external agencies and partners.
  • Demonstrates the Guinness Behaviours.

Desirable skills:

  • Experience of dealing with legal advisors.
  • Experience of dealing with residential conveyancing processes.
  • Knowledge of current housing and leaseholder legislation and good practice.
  • Relevant practitioner experience and broad knowledge of legal powers availability.

Essential qualifications:

  • Level 2 Qualifications (including English and Maths).

Desirable qualifications:

  • Level 4 Diploma in Conveyancing Law and Practice.
