Hearst UK operates an in-office policy with flexible Fridays. Our office is based at House of Hearst, 30 Panton Street, St James's, London, SW1Y 4AJ, where teams collaborate in person and connect across brands and functions.

Salary - Circa £30,000

  • Salary is dependent on experience and will be assessed in line with the candidate’s skills, knowledge, and relevant expertise.

The Role

We’re looking for a talented Homes & Lifestyle Writer on Country Living and House Beautiful to join our team on a fixed-term contract, creating inspiring content across print, digital and live platforms.

Main duties

Digital (across both brands)

  • Pitch and create content ideas that drive audience engagement and support ecommerce growth.
  • Research trends, consumer insights and performance data to identify relevant content opportunities.
  • Adapt content across multiple platforms, including websites, newsletters and social channels.
  • Contribute to newsletter production and social content as part of the editorial team rota.
  • Build relationships with PRs and brand partners to source products, secure exclusives and negotiate reader offers.

Country Living Print

  • Write and commission engaging editorial content, including features, shopping pages and regular magazine sections.
  • Create inspiring craft, lifestyle and shopping content that reflects the Country Living brand.
  • Support special editions and supplements with product curation and "get the look" content.

House Beautiful Print

  • Curate stylish shopping and product-led content for print features and regular magazine pages.
  • Write and develop editorial content that showcases emerging trends, brands and collaborations.
  • Support key interiors and shopping franchises, including "get the look" features and supplements.

What We're Looking For

  • An excellent writer with the ability to produce engaging content to tight deadlines.
  • A strong visual eye and a passion for interiors, homes and shopping content.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects across different brands.
  • At least 3 years of experience researching audience insights to write engaging content across digital, social and print platforms.
  • A collaborative team player with strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • An understanding of audience engagement, content performance and ecommerce opportunities.
  • Flexible, enthusiastic and passionate about creating best-in-class lifestyle content.
