Our service combines accessible social and enterprising activities with individualised support that enables people to make a positive contribution to their community.
We are currently looking for a full-time Horticultural Support Worker to join our Growing Together Project.
Role Overview
The Horticultural Support Worker will help create, facilitate and maintain positive, person-centred horticultural activities across multiple sites including our Garden Centre, Allotments, Gardening Unit and community spaces. You’ll support adults with learning disabilities to develop skills, confidence and inclusion through practical gardening, enterprise work and community engagement.

The successful candidate will provide high-quality support, encourage participation in group activities, and help people gain skills through structured horticultural tasks. You should have experience supporting individuals, working with the public, and ideally some knowledge of small plant/equipment operation. Most importantly, you should bring a positive, empowering approach to supporting people with learning disabilities.
Key Duties
- Deliver practical gardening activities across all sites
- Provide person-centred support using trauma-informed practice and PBS
- Support communication using adapted and accessible methods
- Maintain gardens, tools, equipment and structured logs
- Record learning digitally (StoriiCare, Skills Academy)
- Support public-facing events, demonstrations and community partnerships
- Assist with volunteer recruitment and supervision
- Follow health & safety procedures including lone working, PPE and manual handling.
