Hospital Director
Location: London Salary: £125000 per annum Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Hospital Director to join a leading specialist mental health and addiction service in London.
This is a senior leadership position at a well-established hospital providing a broad range of specialist services across adult mental health, addiction treatment and rehabilitation, eating disorders and young people's mental health. The service delivers inpatient, day care and outpatient treatment, supporting both private and NHS patients across a diverse range of clinical pathways.
The Role
As Hospital Director, you will have overall responsibility for the effective leadership and management of the hospital, ensuring the service delivers consistently high standards of clinical care, patient experience, operational performance and regulatory compliance.
Working closely with the senior leadership and clinical teams, you will provide clear direction across the hospital and ensure that quality, safety, financial and operational objectives are achieved.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing strong strategic and operational leadership across the hospital.
- Leading and managing the Senior Management Team, ensuring effective delivery of day-to-day operational priorities.
- Taking overall accountability for the hospital's operational and commercial performance.
- Monitoring quality and performance indicators and ensuring appropriate action is taken where performance falls below the required standard.
- Working closely with senior clinical colleagues to maintain effective oversight of clinical risk and patient safety.
- Ensuring the hospital meets agreed financial, operational, quality and care objectives.
- Maintaining oversight of revenue and EBITDA performance and working proactively to achieve agreed financial targets.
- Using management information and performance data to identify areas of underperformance and implementing robust improvement plans.
- Ensuring the service remains compliant with relevant legislation, regulatory requirements and internal governance standards.
- Promoting a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and high-quality patient care.
- Supporting, developing and challenging senior managers to ensure consistently strong performance.
- Working collaboratively with clinical, operational and corporate colleagues to deliver the hospital's strategic objectives.
- Maintaining a strong focus on patient experience, clinical outcomes, quality and safety.

About the Hospital

The hospital's services include treatment for conditions such as depression, anxiety, OCD and PTSD, alongside specialist addiction programmes and young people's inpatient mental health services. The young people's service includes dedicated inpatient wards and an on-site hospital school.
The successful candidate will therefore be joining a complex and varied healthcare environment, requiring strong leadership across multiple clinical and operational priorities.
About You
We are looking for an exceptional healthcare leader who combines clinical understanding, operational expertise and commercial awareness with a genuine commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.
You will be comfortable operating at senior level within a complex and regulated healthcare environment and will have the confidence to make effective decisions, manage competing priorities and lead teams through change.
