Job Title
This role supports the Business Development Manager in building and converting the pipeline of new hospital business for Sharpak Zero, and then owns the relationship once a trust becomes a customer.
You will be involved across the whole customer journey: from early meetings and information gathering, through audits and trials, formal product evaluations and the conversion itself, to the ongoing day-to-day account management that follows.
Account management is at the heart of this role.
Winning a trust is only the start. Keeping it, and developing the relationship, depends on being the person the waste team, procurement, ward managers and clinical leads know they can call. This is a hands-on, field-based role with plenty of variety, responsibility, and autonomy. You’ll be expected to build strong relationships, solve problems on the ground, and make sure customers continue to see the value of Sharpak Zero long after the initial sale.
What You’ll Be Doing
Building the Pipeline
- Supporting the Business Development Manager to build and convert the pipeline of new Sharpak Zero hospital business.
- Attending meetings and presenting to key decision-makers and influencers across waste and sustainability, procurement, estates and facilities, infection prevention and control, nursing, departments, and clinical teams.
- Gathering information on container usage, sizes, and volumes, waste flows, collection arrangements, and incumbent suppliers.
- Producing cost and carbon reports for prospective and existing customers using trust data and our approved calculation methodology.
- Carrying out site audits and supporting trials, feeding findings back to the Business Development Manager and wider team.
Product Evaluations
- Coordinating and managing hospital product evaluations from start to finish, agreeing scope, clinical areas, duration, product mix, stock requirements, and success measures with the trust.
- Training clinical and support staff to ensure correct and safe product use.
- Providing visible, hands-on support throughout evaluations and resolving issues quickly.
- Gathering user and stakeholder feedback and producing clear evaluation reports with conclusions and recommendations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
