We are currently recruiting for an experienced Hospital Services Supervisor to oversee cleaning, housekeeping and patient catering services within a busy hospital environment.
This is a hands-on supervisory role, responsible for leading and supporting a team of cleaning staff and ward hosts, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, food safety and patient service are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, motivate and support cleaning staff and ward hosts.
- Ensure staffing levels and daily cleaning and catering schedules are maintained.
- Monitor service standards and complete quality and competency checks.
- Provide training, guidance and support to new and existing team members.
- Ensure food safety, HACCP, infection control, COSHH and Health & Safety procedures are followed.
- Maintain stock levels of cleaning materials, consumables and catering provisions.
- Deal with patient/customer feedback and complaints professionally.
- Report accidents, incidents, hazards and maintenance issues appropriately.
- Manage operational issues during your shift and escalate where required.
- Maintain accurate records, training documentation and reports.
- Work closely with ward-based nursing teams and hospital management.

About You
We are looking for someone with:
- Previous supervisory experience, ideally within a hospital, healthcare, cleaning, housekeeping or catering environment.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- A good understanding of hygiene, Health & Safety and infection control.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A flexible, professional and 'can-do' attitude.
- The ability to work effectively under pressure and as part of a team.
- The ability to undertake a physical role involving manual handling and being mobile for most of the working day.
