Scope of Role
The Hospitality Assistant will handle both F&B and Reception duties to join the Loveday team. The purpose of this role is to provide first class service to our members, their families, guests and all visitors to our Loveday care homes and to achieve this by learning, adopting and maintaining the Loveday Way of delivering outstanding levels of service in hospitality in both Front Of house and Food and Beverage operations. You will be required to work in a dual role, to include F&B service delivery and on reception in the capacity as a host, to meet and greet our members and guest, assisting and directing them with the purpose of their visit. The main requirement in this role is to provide seamless F&B Service to all our members and guests.
Accountability
- Provide a warm and professional welcome to members, guests, and visitors, supporting front-of-house operations including reception duties, visitor management, and general enquiries.
- Deliver seamless food and beverage service throughout the day, ensuring all meals, drinks, and dining experiences meet Loveday’s high standards.
- Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and stock levels in all hospitality and reception areas, coordinating with housekeeping and kitchen teams as needed.
- Uphold health and safety protocols while supporting general administrative tasks such as answering calls, receiving deliveries, and managing post.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Meet and greet guests on arrival in a warm and friendly manner
- Support the kitchen team to deliver first class Loveday dining experiences.
- Prepare Mise en place and make sure all cutlery, plates and glassware are polished.
- Set up tables according to the Loveday & Co Dining Standards
- Follow the service steps for each meal service.
- To serve members and guests meals in the rooms
- To replenish beverages in the lounges throughout the day
- To be well versed with members allergies and a daily briefing is held during meal times
- Temperature checks for all fridges to be completed daily AM and PM
- To ensure that the Member meal time sheet is completed and liaise with the nurses if any member is delayed or miss their meal
- To check and maintain cleanliness of the coffee machines on all lounges
- To serve members and guests beverages and refreshments as and when required in all day dining area.
- Ensure that all fridges and snack areas are always fully stocked.
- Recognise regular visitors and interact warmly with families.
- Maintain all stock levels of consumables i.e. teas, coffees, sugars, disposables, drinks (with the support of the Hospitality Lead).
- Check the cleanliness in common areas and guest bathrooms throughout the day and liaise with housekeeping team to ensure all areas are always immaculate.
- Respond to queries and direct clients as required, referring to the general manager as necessary.
- To ensure MOD is printed and displayed
- Update the Daily Occupancy, PEEPs and Diet Nutrition Cards
- Answer incoming calls and redirect or take messages as necessary.
- Receive deliveries and post and sort and distribute all post deliveries.
- To complete Stock Take at the end of each month
- To maintain and monitor member’s expenses
- To complete the Declining Balance for hospitality
- To maintain and monitor the Maintenance Tracker. Liaising closely with the Maintenance Manager regarding the completion of jobs
- To ensure that the outdoor garden covers and removed and put back on the front and terrace
- To make sure suites ready for new arrivals -Placing Water tray, Menu, Chocolates and Flowers
- To Liaise with Lifestyle regarding events -Setting up events and serving Food and Beverage
- Monitor guests/clients via the CCTV and door entry call system ensuring they gain entrance and are able to exit the building as required.
- Ensure reception area is kept tidy and clutter free.
- Provide ad hoc support as required by the business
- Adhere to all health and safety policies, including infection control, manual handling, and fire safety procedures.
- Support members with activities, outings, and social events, encouraging engagement and wellbeing.
- Assist with emergency procedures, including evacuations and first aid, when necessary.
- Provide flexible, ad hoc support across departments to ensure the smooth running of daily care home operations.
