Job Description

The Hospitality & Event Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and driving excellence at our client site located near London Bridge. This role ensures the consistent delivery of outstanding guest experiences, commercial success, and operational efficiency across the Hospitality and Events floor and the Executive floor. The position involves strategic planning, leadership, and client relationship management to deliver exceptional, creative, and customer-focused hospitality for our Client.

Main Responsibilities

Leadership and Strategy

  • Provide strategic direction for all hospitality and event operations across the business.
  • Lead, inspire, and support hospitality and events teams to deliver exceptional service and memorable experiences.
  • Develop and implement hospitality standards, service protocols, and event procedures.
  • Promote a strong culture of teamwork, professionalism, and accountability.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Director and General Managers to align hospitality standards with company objectives.

Client and Customer Experience

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the main point of contact for hospitality and events.
  • Ensure client expectations are met and exceeded through quality, presentation, and service delivery.
  • Lead pre-event consultations, tastings, and post-event reviews.
  • Drive customer feedback processes and implement improvements based on insight.
  • Ensure brand consistency and service excellence across all sites and events.

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of all hospitality and event operations.
  • Work collaboratively with other service providers to ensure a seamless delivery.
  • Ensure all spaces are presented to the highest standards.
  • Support the delivery of premium hospitality experiences, including fine dining, receptions, and corporate events.
  • Implement best practices in logistics, service flow, and staffing to ensure seamless execution.
  • Oversee health & safety, food safety, and licensing compliance across all event operations.

Commercial and Financial Management

  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial performance for hospitality and events.
  • Drive profitability through efficient labour planning, stock management, and waste control.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities and event concepts to grow revenue.
  • Support pricing, proposal writing, and costing for large or bespoke events.
  • Monitor commercial performance through reporting and KPI tracking.

Team Development and People Management

  • Lead, develop, and coach hospitality and event team.
  • Identify training and development opportunities to strengthen the team’s skills and knowledge.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and motivating working environment.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and succession planning for the hospitality team.
  • Recognise and reward outstanding performance and service delivery.

Brand and Presentation

  • Champion The Genuine Dining Company’s brand and service philosophy in every interaction.
  • Ensure all hospitality events reflect the company’s creativity, professionalism, and premium standards.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to showcase events and hospitality success stories.

Skills & Attributes

  • Proven experience in senior hospitality or event management within catering, hotels, or corporate hospitality.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with a hands-on approach.
  • Excellent client relationship management and communication abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of event planning, delivery, and logistics.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and driving commercial performance.
  • Understanding of health & safety, food hygiene, and licensing requirements.
  • High level of organisation and attention to detail.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Extensive experience in luxury hospitality, high-end venues, private clubs, or similar upscale environments.
  • Proven leadership and people management skills with the ability to build and motivate diverse teams.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a hands-on, results-driven approach to operations and financial management.
  • Polished, professional demeanor with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Deep understanding of high-net-worth clientele expectations and the ability to deliver personalized service.
  • Demonstrated expertise in operational management, including budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution capabilities with a resilient, adaptable mindset.
  • Proficiency in hospitality management systems and software platforms.

Preferred:

  • Certification or formal training in hospitality management or business administration.
  • Experience in a London-based or similarly competitive, diverse hospitality market.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and compliance regulations specific to the hospitality industry.
  • Experience with staff scheduling, performance management, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with revenue management and pricing strategies in hospitality settings.
