Hospitality Manager

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Hospitality Manager to oversee the match day operation and delivery of premium hospitality across a bar, seven hospitality boxes, a Directors’ Suite and a Sponsors’ Lounge.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring consistently high standards of service, food and beverage, presentation and guest experience across all hospitality areas. This is a hands-on management position requiring excellent organisation, leadership and communication skills, with a strong focus on delivering an exceptional experience for VIP guests, directors, sponsors and corporate clients.

The role will involve working closely with Salford City club staff, catering and beverage suppliers, event organisers and other stakeholders to ensure every match day runs smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Oversight

    • Take overall responsibility for the successful operation of the bar, seven hospitality boxes, Directors’ Suite and Sponsors’ Lounge.
    • Plan and coordinate hospitality operations for matchdays, events and other functions.
    • Ensure all hospitality areas are fully prepared, presented and operational to the required standard before guests arrive.
    • Oversee service throughout each event, ensuring a professional, efficient and welcoming guest experience.
    • Manage event set-up, service, breakdown and post-event procedures.
    • Monitor service levels and respond quickly and professionally to any issues or guest requirements.
    • Ensure hospitality areas consistently meet company standards for cleanliness, presentation, food, beverage and service.
  • Team Leadership

    • Lead, motivate and manage hospitality and event staff across all areas.
    • Allocate staff appropriately according to event requirements, guest numbers and service levels.
    • Brief teams before events and ensure everyone understands their responsibilities and service expectations.
    • Monitor staff performance and provide guidance, coaching and feedback where required.
    • Ensure all team members maintain a professional appearance and deliver excellent customer service.
    • Support training and development of hospitality staff where required.

  • Guest & Client Experience

    • Act as a senior point of contact for VIP guests, directors, sponsors and corporate clients.
    • Build strong relationships with key club staff and box holders.
    • Ensure individual guest requirements and special requests are communicated effectively and delivered wherever possible.
    • Deal confidently with complaints, issues or difficult situations, finding appropriate solutions while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
    • Gather and respond to guest feedback to continually improve the hospitality offering.
  • Food & Beverage

    • Oversee food and beverage service across all hospitality areas.
    • Liaise with catering and beverage teams to ensure appropriate menus, stock levels and service arrangements are in place.
    • Monitor presentation and quality of food and drinks.
    • Ensure licensing, responsible alcohol service and relevant food safety procedures are followed.
    • Monitor stock usage and minimise waste while maintaining appropriate availability throughout events.
    • Review guest numbers, seating plans, menus and event schedules ahead of each event.
    • Coordinate with relevant departments including operations, security, cleaning, catering, commercial and event teams.
    • Ensure all relevant documentation, checklists and operational procedures are completed.
    • Contribute to post-event reports and highlight any operational issues or opportunities for improvement.
  • Health, Safety & Compliance

    • Ensure all hospitality areas operate in accordance with health and safety requirements.
    • Follow and enforce company policies, licensing conditions and food safety procedures.
    • Ensure staff are appropriately trained and aware of emergency and evacuation procedures.
    • Report accidents, incidents, maintenance issues and other concerns promptly.
    • Maintain a safe, clean and professional environment for guests and staff.

Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in hospitality, events, hotels, restaurants, stadia or premium/corporate hospitality.
  • Previous experience managing multiple hospitality areas or a large event operation.
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
  • A confident, professional and approachable manner.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and a strong eye for detail.
  • Experience working with VIPs, corporate clients, sponsors or senior stakeholders.
  • The ability to remain calm and make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good knowledge of food and beverage operations.
  • An understanding of health & safety, food safety and licensing requirements.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of teams and suppliers.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, matchdays and other event days as required.

Working Hours

This is an event-led role and will require flexibility to work evenings, weekends, matchdays, event days and occasional additional hours depending on the hospitality calendar.
