HOSPITALITY SECTOR LEAD | ARCHITECTURE
Birmingham | Salary £60,000 - £75,000
We are working with a highly regarded architectural practice who are looking to appoint an experienced Hospitality Sector Lead to support the continued growth of their hospitality portfolio.
This is a senior and influential position, working closely with the Director and Board Sponsor, as well as Regional Leads, to combine sector expertise.
The practice operates collaboratively across multiple studios throughout the UK, with teams structured by sector and encouraged to share knowledge, skills and resources across the wider business. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced hospitality architect who is looking to take on greater responsibility within a growing sector and play a key role in shaping both projects and future business opportunities.
THE ROLE
As Hospitality Sector Lead, you will help drive the development of the hospitality sector across the regional studios, bringing strong industry knowledge, design expertise and an understanding of hospitality brands and their operational requirements.
You will be involved across a combination of design, project delivery, client engagement, business development and work-winning, while helping to share knowledge and best practice across the wider practice.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Sector Growth & Business Development
- Support the Director and Board Sponsor in delivering the wider hospitality sector strategy.
- Provide specialist hospitality and hotel brand expertise to support work-winning activity across the regional studios.
- Identify new business opportunities and contribute to pipeline development.
- Support bids, tenders, presentations and client engagement.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and industry contacts.
- Help strengthen the practice's reputation and presence within the hospitality sector.

Design & Technical Leadership
- Lead and contribute to the design and delivery of hospitality projects across a range of brands and project types.
- Bring strong sector knowledge to develop innovative, practical and commercially viable design solutions.
- Consider operational efficiency, customer experience and the specific requirements of hospitality environments throughout the design process.
- Provide design and technical leadership across projects.
- Champion best practice, quality and continuous improvement.
Project Delivery
- Support the successful delivery of projects to programme, budget and quality expectations.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams and external stakeholders.
- Provide guidance and support to project teams where required.
- Share lessons learned and identify opportunities to improve project delivery and efficiency.
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for an experienced qualified Architect with a strong background in hospitality and a genuine understanding of the sector.
You will ideally have:
- ARB / RIBA qualification or equivalent.
- 5+ years' post-qualification experience.
- Proven experience designing and delivering hospitality projects.
- Experience working across a range of hospitality or hotel brands.
- Strong design and technical capability.
- A good understanding of the operational requirements of hospitality projects.
- Experience contributing to bids, proposals, presentations or client-facing business development.
- Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams and studios.
- A proactive approach to identifying opportunities and supporting sector growth.

Desirable:
- Experience working with MMC.
- Experience of adaptive reuse projects.
- Existing relationships within the hospitality / hotel sector.
