Location: Littlehampton

Hours: Host: 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 09:00-16:00): Maternity Cover for 1 year

Host (18+ years)

  • Weekdays: £13.67 per hour
  • Weekends: £14.67 per hour
  • Overtime: £15.67 per hour
  • Bank Holiday: £20.50 per hour

The Role

Oakland Care Group is seeking a friendly, reliable, and professional Host to join our team at our residential home in Littlehampton. As a Host, you will play an essential part in delivering a high-quality hospitality service to our residents. You will help create a warm, welcoming dining experience, support meal service, maintain cleanliness in dining and lounge areas, and ensure residents receive attentive, person-centred support during mealtimes and throughout the day. We are seeking a full-time Host, working Monday to Friday, and a Weekend Host to provide maternity cover for one year. This is a rewarding, people-focused role where you will contribute directly to residents' comfort, dignity, and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide an exceptional hospitality service to residents during mealtimes and refreshments.
  • Assist with meal preparation, plating, serving, and clearing.
  • Ensure dining rooms, lounges, and service areas are clean, organised, and inviting.
  • Support residents in a polite and respectful manner, ensuring their dietary needs and preferences are understood and met.
  • Maintain stock of refreshments, cutlery, tableware, and hospitality supplies.
  • Prepare snack trolleys and drinks throughout the day as required.
  • Follow food hygiene standards and infection control procedures at all times.
  • Work collaboratively with the care and kitchen teams to ensure smooth dining experiences.
  • Uphold the home's high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and service.
  • Maintain accurate documentation where required (e.g., food temperature checks, cleaning records).
  • Attend training, meetings, and supervision sessions as required.
  • Comply with all health and safety, safeguarding, and organisational policies.
