About the Role

We’re looking for a Part Time Host to join the team at The Parakeet.

Located in the heart of Kentish Town, The Parakeet is an independent public house and dining room. In the front, a lively neighbourhood pub. In the back, an award-winning dining room serving Basque-inspired small plates cooked over coal and fire. Led by chef Ben Allen, the kitchen has received critical acclaim from The Times, The Evening Standard and more, and is recognised in the Michelin Guide. We work with exceptional seasonal produce from respected suppliers and cook with a real respect for craft.

But don’t just take our word for it:

  • Top 100 restaurants in London
  • Top 50 Gastropubs
  • The Times | Giles Coren review
  • The Evening Standard review

As Host, you set the tone from the moment guests walk through the door. You’re the first welcome, the first impression, and a huge part of the experience people remember. You’ll manage the flow of the floor, greet guests with warmth and confidence, and help create a room that feels calm, cared for and well run.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
