JOB SUMMARY

To ensure all guestrooms are maintained to the standard set by the Director of Services.

SCOPE/BUSINESS CONTEXT

  • A Full Time position based at the London Marriott Hotel Canary Wharf and Executive Apartments.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Experience:

  • Previous experience working in the industry preferred.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Communication skills (verbal, listening)
  • Reliable
  • Able to work alone and within a team

Education or Certification

  • Good level of English essential

SPECIFIC DUTIES

  • Smile, meet and greet each guest and Associate.
  • Report to work ensuring appearance and presentation meet the required standard.
  • Collect worksheets and keys from the Housekeeping office at your appointed start time (8am Monday to Saturday and 9am Sunday).
  • Collect equipment, ensure you have the correct tools for the job – if not you must let your Floor Supervisor know – and commence cleaning departure rooms.
  • While working in occupied and check out rooms, the door should be kept closed with a card outside explaining the room is currently being serviced.
  • Rooms with a “Do not disturb” card should not be knocked or entered. The Floor Supervisor will call the guest at 2pm if the card is still on the door. Please note never to call the guest yourself.
  • Report to your Floor Supervisor any sleep outs, extra departures or rooms not requiring service.
  • All rooms must be cleaned to Marriott standards and guest belongings tidied.
  • Bedlinen and towels must be renewed in all rooms.
  • Makes up any extra beds and baby cots as required.
  • Any guest laundry found in occupied rooms should be brought to the Housekeeping office immediately.
  • All room service trays and trolleys must be removed from the guestrooms and the corridors and placed on the service landing.
  • Cleans an empties vacuum cleaner and assist in the tidying of the store cupboard at the end of the day.
  • Before going off shift, cartless suitcase should be restocked, cleaned and put away, Floor Supervisor will check and sign your paper. Return your list and keys to the Housekeeping office at the end of your shift.
  • Be familiar with Brand Standard SOP’s and other procedures.

Maintenance and security

  • Ensure lost and found items are returned directly into Housekeeping and the lost property procedure is followed.
  • Ensure safety and return of all keys and bleep and ensure you do not loan them to anybody else.
  • Report immediately any matters concerning the security of guests to the Loss Prevention department.
  • Ensure all equipment is well maintained and in proper working order. Report any malfunctioning or defects to equipment to the Floor Supervisor.
  • Do not allow anyone to enter a guestroom. Advise the guest to place his or her keycard in the lock to check for the green light to come up.
  • Ensure safety of guest property and report anything suspicious to your Floor Supervisor.
  • Report suspicious looking persons to your Floor Supervisor.
  • Report Health and Safety hazards.
  • Complies with set standards of behaviour, discipline and appearance within the Hotel.
  • Complies with the Health, Safety and Hygiene policy.
  • Complies with the Hotel and departmental Fire and Bomb procedures.
  • Complies with the Hotel and department environmental procedures.

OTHER

  • Performs other related tasks as assigned by management.
  • Complies with Marriott International Hotels Limited Regional Office policies and procedures.
  • Working hours as required to do your job but normally not less than 40 hours per week.
