POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for assigning and supervising the activities of Associates to ensure a high degree of excellence / maintenance in guest rooms, suites, corridors, fire exits, stairways, service area and service rooms on assigned areas / floors that are equal to the high level of guest and management expectations.
Experience:
- Previous experience working in the industry preferred.
Skills and Knowledge
- Strong Communication skills (verbal, listening, writing)
- Pro-active and reliable
- Able to work alone and within a team
Education or Certification
- Good level of English essential
SPECIFIC DUTIES
- Smile, meet and greet each guest and Associate.
- Responsible for training of all Associates.
- Ensure all floors are stocked properly and adhere to all pars and that all Associates have the relevant tools for their job.
- Ensure all china and glass is in an excellent condition and is maintained at all times.
- Prepare worksheets for the day.
- Assist in issuing and control of keys and worksheets to Associates.
- Assigns special duties, e.g. VIP’s, spring cleaning, job of the day to Associates.
- Checks all vacant inspected rooms and reports any discrepancies to the Housekeeping Office immediately.
- Ensures that the standard of all rooms is equal to a high degree of excellence.
- Be responsible for the input of all status of guest rooms.
- Check Associates are adhering to the grooming standards.
- Inspect and complete inspection reports, self Brand Standard once a month, and all Associates to be checked as per BSA at least once a week.
- Supervises / documents the changing of any soft furnishings and any other upholstery in need of change, repair or cleaning.
- Assists in carrying out inventories of linen and other items in guest rooms as directed by the Housekeeping Manager and Director of Services.
- Ensure Associates are working at all times and that they are fully equipped with the supplies that they need to take care of the guest.
- Display hospitality skills when dealing with guests and Associates.
- Respond to all guest requests in a prompt and courteous manner.
- Develop a Team Spirit among the Housekeeping department.
- Attend all departmental meetings.
- Attend training sessions both internal and external.
- Reports all disciplinary and grievance matters immediately to Director of Services / Housekeeping Manager.

- Be familiar with Brand Standard SOP’s and LSOP’s.
Health and Safety

Reports to Director of Services / Housekeeping Manager any Health and Safety hazards.

Reports immediately any accidents that may occur to Associates.
-
In case of fire and bomb emergencies, assists in evacuating Associates and guests in their area to the assemble point.

Ensure all Associates are conversant with the Hotels fire and bomb procedures.

Ensure that fire regulations are maintained by making sure fire exits are not blocked.

Keeps corridors clear of rubbish, soiled linen, extra beds, cots and any other service equipment.
Maintenance and security
-
Report all malfunctions on assigned floors to Engineering department. Follow up any reports taking further action if required.

Ensure all Associates equipment is well maintained and in proper working order.

Reports immediately any matters concerning the security of guest rooms to the Loss Prevention department.

Ensures safety and return of all keys and bleeps.

Ensure lost and found items are turned directly into Housekeeping and the lost property procedures are followed.
Additional duties
-
Covers for Late Housekeeper in their absence.

Complies with set standards of behaviour, discipline and appearance within the hotel.

Complies with Hotel’s Health and Safety procedures.

Complete any special assignment directed by the Director of Services promptly.
OTHER
- Performs other related tasks as assigned by management.
- Complies with Marriott International Hotels Limited Regional Office policies and procedures.
- Working hours as required to do your job but normally not less than 40 hours per week.
