Ready to lead the commercial agenda?

Park Inn by Radisson Aberdeen is a 185-bedroom hotel in the heart of the city, welcoming a strong mix of corporate, leisure, group, and events business. The hotel has modern meeting and event facilities for up to 200 guests, alongside an on-site restaurant, bar, and 24-hour fitness suite. Its central location, close to Aberdeen’s business, shopping, and transport links, creates a strong platform for someone who knows how to turn market opportunities into profitable business.

We are looking for an ambitious and commercially driven Hotel Commercial Manager who knows how to open doors, build influential relationships, and convert opportunities into results.

Full-time Permanent - Aberdeen city centre - Immediate Start Available

This is a visible, hands-on commercial leadership role. You will take ownership of the hotel’s commercial activity across rooms, corporate accounts, meetings and events, groups, leisure business, and local partnerships.

Working closely with the General Manager and wider hotel team, you will shape the commercial plan, challenge performance, and create the momentum needed to grow revenue, market share, and profitability.

The opportunity

Aberdeen is a relationship-led market. Success in this role will come from understanding what drives local demand, knowing where the opportunities are, and building a network that keeps the hotel front of mind.

You will have the autonomy to develop new business, strengthen key accounts, and influence commercial decisions throughout the hotel. You will be active in the market, visible with clients, and closely connected to hotel performance. This is not a role for someone who wants to manage commercial activity from behind a desk.

What you’ll lead

  • Develop and deliver a focused commercial plan with the General Manager and wider commercial support teams.
  • Win new corporate, group, meetings, events, and leisure business across Aberdeen and the wider region.
  • Build senior relationships with key clients, bookers, local businesses, and commercial partners.
  • Grow existing accounts through regular contact, performance reviews, and targeted activity.
  • Lead client meetings, hotel show rounds, rate discussions, and commercial negotiations.
  • Identify new sectors, partnerships, and demand opportunities that can generate profitable revenue.
  • Improve enquiry conversion, average spend, repeat business, and overall account value.
  • Challenge unnecessary discounting and protect rate integrity and profit.
  • Use performance data, market intelligence, and competitor activity to drive clear commercial actions.
  • Support high-value, complex, and strategically important meetings, events, and group enquiries.
  • Work closely with operational teams to ensure commercial commitments are realistic and delivered effectively.
  • Build commercial confidence across the hotel by keeping teams informed, focused, and accountable.
  • Represent the hotel at client meetings, networking events, and local business forums.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What you’ll bring

  • Strong experience in hotel sales, commercial management, revenue, meetings, and events or a closely related hospitality role.
  • A track record of winning business, developing accounts, and building long-term client relationships.
  • A strong understanding of hotel revenue, including pricing, demand, segmentation, and conversion.
  • The confidence to negotiate, influence, and challenge commercial decisions.
  • A clear focus on profitable revenue, not simply business volume.
  • The ability to interpret performance information and turn it into practical sales activity.
  • Experience managing sales pipelines, account plans, and commercial reporting.
  • The credibility to work with senior clients, hotel leaders, and external partners.
  • A proactive approach, with the energy to create opportunities rather than wait for enquiries.
  • Strong organisation, communication, and follow-up.
  • The ability to balance commercial ambition with operational capability and guest experience.

Knowledge of Aberdeen’s corporate, energy, leisure, or events market would be a strong advantage. Experience within a branded hotel environment or using Radisson systems would also be helpful.

About you

You are commercially sharp, persuasive, and comfortable being accountable for results. You enjoy building relationships, but you are equally confident discussing performance, negotiating rates, and challenging activity that does not deliver sufficient value. You know how to find the story behind the numbers and turn it into action. You will spot gaps, follow up opportunities, and maintain momentum rather than waiting for the market to come to you. You will be visible in the hotel and active across the local business community. You will know when to pursue an opportunity, when to protect the hotel’s commercial position, and how to bring colleagues with you. This role will suit an experienced commercial professional who wants genuine ownership, direct access to the General Manager, and the opportunity to make a measurable impact.
