About The White Hart
Originally rebuilt in 1804, The White Hart is a historic coaching inn in the heart of Boston, Lincolnshire, combining heritage with modern hospitality. With 26 stylish ensuite bedrooms, a popular riverside restaurant, courtyard bar and versatile event spaces overlooking the iconic Boston Stump, we welcome hotel guests, diners and the local community alike.
From weddings and celebrations to business events, charity fundraisers and social gatherings, The White Hart is at the heart of community life. Our menus celebrate the best of Lincolnshire produce, while our team is dedicated to creating memorable experiences and delivering exceptional hospitality.
We're seeking an inspirational, commercially minded General Manager to lead the next chapter of The White Hart, strengthening its reputation as Boston's venue of choice for weddings, events and community occasions while driving outstanding guest experiences and commercial success.
The Role
As General Manager, you'll have overall responsibility for leading every aspect of the business while driving The White Hart's position as one of Boston's leading hospitality, events and wedding venues.
You'll
- Lead, inspire and develop a high-performing team across all departments.
- Grow weddings, private events, celebrations and corporate functions, ensuring every event exceeds expectations.
- Drive community engagement by building relationships with local businesses, organisations, clubs and event organisers.
- Develop initiatives that encourage more residents to choose The White Hart for dining, socialising and celebrations.
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue through events, seasonal promotions and community partnerships.
- Deliver exceptional guest experiences across accommodation, food, beverage and events.
- Manage budgets, forecasting and overall commercial performance.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety and licensing requirements.
- Recruit, coach and develop future hospitality leaders.
- Create a culture that reflects our family values, passion for hospitality and commitment to excellence.

About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has previous General Manager or senior operational leadership experience within hospitality.
- Has experience growing weddings, events or community-focused hospitality businesses.
- Understands how to build strong local relationships that drive repeat business and venue reputation.
- Possesses excellent commercial awareness and financial management skills.
- Has a proven track record of increasing revenue through exceptional guest experiences and innovative event programming.
- Leads with energy, enthusiasm and integrity.
- Is passionate about developing people and creating memorable experiences for every guest.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
