Housekeeping Supervisor

Pay: £14.42 per hour

5 days a week, including weekends and bank holidays where required

Reports to: Operations Manager

Are you an experienced housekeeping professional with strong leadership skills? We are currently recruiting for a Housekeeping Supervisor to support the daily operation of the housekeeping department within a busy hotel. You will be responsible for leading and motivating the housekeeping team while ensuring guest bedrooms, public areas, and hotel facilities are maintained to the highest possible standards.

The Role

As Housekeeping Supervisor, you will play a key role in managing the day-to-day housekeeping operation, ensuring the team is working efficiently and consistently meeting the required standards.

Responsibilities

  • Leading, training, and motivating the housekeeping team
  • Organising and delegating daily tasks to team members
  • Producing and managing rotas to ensure adequate staffing based on hotel occupancy
  • Carrying out daily room and quality inspections
  • Checking vacant and ready rooms to ensure they meet the required standards
  • Managing public areas and linen room standards
  • Ensuring maintenance issues and defects are reported and followed up
  • Managing keys and ensuring regular key audits are completed
  • Supporting the management of lost property
  • Ensuring cleaning materials, guest supplies, and equipment are stored correctly
  • Completing quality audits and actioning any issues identified
  • Monitoring wastage and ensuring it is kept to a minimum
  • Working closely with the Hotel General Manager, Operations Manager, and HR where required
  • Recording team member hours accurately for payroll
  • Ordering cleaning chemicals and equipment within agreed budgets
  • Managing linen stock and ensuring accurate records are maintained

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone with previous experience within a hotel housekeeping environment, ideally with supervisory or team leadership experience. You will need to be organised, reliable, and confident managing a team while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and service.

Strong communication and people-management skills are essential, along with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hotel environment. You should also be comfortable carrying out quality inspections, managing rotas, and ensuring health and safety procedures are consistently followed.
