We’re looking for an experienced and commercially driven Hotel Manager to join the team at Holiday Inn Birmingham Airport NEC and play a key role in driving the continued success of the hotel.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on hospitality leader who can lead from the front, inspire a team and balance exceptional guest experiences with strong operational and financial performance.

The Role:

As Hotel Manager, you’ll be at the heart of our operation, providing visible leadership across the hotel and working closely with the General Manager to drive performance, deliver operational excellence and create memorable guest experiences.

  • Lead by example, supporting and developing our teams while identifying opportunities to grow revenue and profitability and create a hotel our guests want to return to and our colleagues are proud to be part of.

What You'll Bring to the Role:

Guest Experience:

  • Champion exceptional guest service and ensure every guest receives a warm, consistent and memorable experience.
  • Use guest feedback and performance data to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Take ownership of guest concerns and service recovery, ensuring issues are resolved promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure brand standards are consistently delivered across every area of the hotel.
  • Create a culture where colleagues understand the importance of genuine hospitality and going the extra mile.

Commercial & Financial Performance:

  • Work closely with the General Manager and Senior Leadership Team to deliver the hotel's financial, commercial and operational plans.
  • Drive revenue, profitability and productivity across all areas of the hotel.
  • Monitor performance against budget and identify opportunities to improve financial and operational results.
  • Manage labour and operational costs while maintaining high service and guest standards.
  • Maximise revenue opportunities across rooms, Food & Beverage, meetings and events, and other hotel facilities and services.
  • Use commercial insight, data and market awareness to support informed business decisions.

Operational Excellence:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the entire hotel, ensuring all departments work effectively together.
  • Provide leadership across Front Office, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping and all other operational areas.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, compliance, service and presentation throughout the hotel.
  • Work closely with department heads to identify challenges, implement solutions and improve performance.
  • Be a visible, hands-on leader who is prepared to get involved and support the operation when required.
  • Ensure the hotel remains a safe and secure environment for guests, colleagues and company assets.

People & Leadership:

  • Be an active member of the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to the hotel's strategy, direction and overall business performance.
  • Lead, coach and develop our teams, creating a positive environment where colleagues feel valued, supported and motivated.
  • Ensure teams have clear objectives, direction and accountability, with the right people and resources in place to deliver business goals.
  • Identify development opportunities and support colleagues to achieve their potential.
  • Recognise and celebrate great performance while addressing areas where improvement is required.
  • Build strong relationships across all departments and create a genuine one-team culture.
  • Work collaboratively with the General Manager and wider leadership team to communicate priorities, standards and business objectives.
  • Provide operational insight and challenge to support effective decision-making and lead key hotel initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and represent the hotel professionally at all times.
  • Act as General Manager in their absence, providing confident leadership and maintaining continuity across the hotel.

What We're Looking For:

We're looking for someone who is commercially driven, operationally strong and passionate about people, development and hospitality.

You will ideally have:

  • Proven leadership experience within hotel management, with strong multi-department operational experience.
  • Proven experience leading, coaching and developing teams and department heads, with a strong focus on building capability and continuous development.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, including experience with P&L management, budgeting and cost control.
  • A hands-on approach with the ability to confidently lead from the front.
  • The ability to analyse performance, identify opportunities and turn plans into results.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to work effectively across all levels.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office, PMS and POS system.
  • A strong understanding of guest experience and service recovery.
  • Experience within a medium-sized, high-occupancy hotel or similarly complex hospitality operation would be advantageous.
  • The flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays when required.
  • Most importantly, you'll be someone who cares about people, invests in their development, takes pride in the operation and wants to make a difference.
