The Old Swan Hotel, Harrogate Job Opportunity

The Old Swan Hotel, Harrogate are looking for a new team member to join our existing team, in return for your commitment your benefits will be:

  • Straight Shifts (40 hours over 5 days)
  • Up to 6 weeks annual holiday
  • Uniform Provided
  • Meals on duty
  • Parking on site
  • Gratuities Paid Monthly

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the hotel
  • Check guests in and out, ensuring a smooth and efficient process
  • Provide information about hotel facilities, services, and local attractions
  • Handle guest inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints in a professional manner
  • Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate department or staff member
  • Maintain accurate guest records
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and email correspondence

Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide exceptional customer service

  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in guest information and transactions
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle difficult situations with professionalism

Note: Previous experience in a similar role or in the hospitality industry is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.

Requirements:

  • Fluent in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficient in using computer systems (Guestline PMS) and software for reservations and guest management

A mixture of Early Shifts, Middle Shifts and Late Shifts over 5 days.

Job Types:

Full-time, Permanent

Pay:

Minimum Wage plus Gratuities. A live in position may be available on a Live-in wage
