About The Role
We are looking for a Hotel Services Manager to manage the provision of a high quality and efficient food, beverage, cleaning and laundry service to the Home.
- To ensure that all food & beverages served meets residents needs and EFHL standards
- To provide and maintain high quality, nutritionally balanced and well presented menus, meals and snacks within budgetary constraints
- To be responsible for the preparation and cooking of all meals and the distribution of food and beverages
- To cater for all special functions and to provide meals for visitors as necessary.
- To communicate regularly with residents to ensure their personal dietary needs are being met. Liaising with Nursing Staff/Senior Support Manager with regard to any special diets.
- To plan and cater for a minimum of 12 appropriate and exciting special days annually in consultation with the General Manager and Social Events staff.
- To ensure that cleanliness is maintained throughout the home and domestic services meet residents needs and EFHL standards
- To ensure that Resident’s rooms are cleaned according to schedule and Residents needs and requirements.
- To ensure that all other areas of the home are regularly cleaned and well presented.
- To ensure that kitchens and all other food preparation areas are cleaned and maintained according to EFHL and statutory requirements.
- To ensure that laundry services are efficient and meet Residents needs and requirements
- To administer the hotel services and resources
- To order and check in, all kitchen and housekeeping supplies, maintaining stock control systems and accurate records in line with EFHL policy and procedures.
- Monitor, record and ensure expenditure is in accordance with the budget set for the Home reporting any variances to the General Manager. Participate in budget preparation.
- To be responsible for the supervision of all housekeeping and kitchen staff and to organise staff rotas and holidays providing adequate cover at all times.
- To recruit and select kitchen and housekeeping staff with the General Manager.
- To ensure compliance with all Domestic and Food Hygiene, Health and Safety and COSHH regulations, training all staff in the same and maintain up to date training and statutory records.
- To ensure the safe storage of all food stuffs, to control the stock rotation and to ensure the economical use of all supplies.
- To ensure all kitchen and domestic equipment is correctly and safely used reporting any mechanical defects and any accidents, incidents or complaints are recorded and reported in line with EFHL policy.

Qualifications & Skills
Essential Criteria
- Minimum 5 GCSE's
- Intermediate Food Handling Certificate
- NVQ Level II/III or equivalent in Food/Catering.
- Previous management experience in Catering and Housekeeping for a significant number of people.
- General administration skills with proficiency in:
- Spreadsheets
- Word processing
- Stock control
Desirable Criteria
- Knowledge of Dietetics for Older People.
