The Barn At Berryfields is a family-run, independent hospitality business located in Meriden in the heart of the West Midlands, close to the NEC, Birmingham Airport, and International Train Station. The site includes an AA 4-Star 33-bedroom hotel, an award-winning 2 AA Rosette restaurant with a private function room, and a Garden & Tepee area offering alfresco street food and private events. Guests can also enjoy a café, pizzeria, artisan bakery, and a working farm that rears its own Berryfields pigs and Hereford pedigree cattle, and grows fresh produce on-site. The Barn is a foodie destination known for its home-produced meat, fruit, vegetables, salads, and hand-crafted baked goods. It also hosts family-friendly seasonal events and is home to animals including reindeer and pygmy goats, creating a unique and welcoming atmosphere for guests and team members alike.
Role Description
The Hotel Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based at The Barn At Berryfields in Meriden. The person in this role oversees day-to-day hotel operations, including supervising front-of-house activities, coordinating reception and reservations, and ensuring a high standard of guest service throughout the property. Daily responsibilities include leading and supporting the team, managing room allocations and check-in/check-out processes, and responding promptly to guest queries, feedback, and issues. The Hotel Supervisor works closely with the food and beverage, events, and housekeeping teams to maintain smooth service, consistent quality, and efficient communication. The role also involves assisting with basic budgeting and sales tasks, monitoring performance against targets, and helping implement operational improvements that enhance guest experience and profitability.

Qualifications
- Strong customer service skills, with a focus on guest satisfaction, professionalism, and conflict resolution.
- Experience with receptionist duties, including reservations, check-in/check-out, guest communications, and use of booking systems, is beneficial.
- Knowledge of basic budgeting and cost control, with the ability to support management in monitoring expenses and revenues.
- Familiarity with sales in a hospitality environment, including upselling rooms and services and promoting on-site offerings, is beneficial.
- Understanding of food & beverage operations, coordinating with restaurant, bar, café, and event teams to ensure smooth service.
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience in hotels or hospitality settings is highly beneficial.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable working flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet business needs.
- Proficiency with hotel management or reservation software and standard office applications; numeracy skills for basic reporting is beneficial.
- Enjoys working autonomously towards business objectives and reporting to the Hotel Manager.
