Vacancy Description

To deliver friendly, efficient customer service and to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all of our guests. To supervise, train and motivate others, with the key aim of retaining and attracting new customers.

  • Assist in ensuring the highest consistent standards of CQSMA* are achieved on every shift.
  • Provide excellent customer service at all times with the key aim of retaining customers and attracting new customers and be accountable for every guest's comfort and safety.
  • Deal with any customer complaints in a polite and professional manner in line with Company policy.
  • Maintain knowledge of all company promotions and hotel pricing in order to provide information to guests on request and ensure the correct POS materials are on display.
  • Deal with all enquiries in a professional and courteous manner either in person, on the telephone, or via emails.
  • Manage and maintain the administration of all reservations, cancellations, and no-shows in line with company policy.
  • Propose and implement effective marketing strategies to maximize room occupancy levels.
  • Complete all daily administration tasks as required.
  • Ensure all bedrooms/conference rooms and areas within your responsibility are checked thoroughly at the end of every shift and confirm that they meet the standards set by the company.
  • Maintain the correct handling of all soiled linen and ensure that every bedroom has the correct bedding and relevant number of towels in.
  • Report any faults or damage in any of the bedrooms or the hotel facilities to the hotel manager immediately.
  • Monitor and oversee maintenance issues relevant to your area and liaise with 3rd party contractors including MIV as required.
  • Complete regular checks on portable electrical appliances. (10% of bedrooms on a rotating basis weekly).
  • Be accountable for all relevant product delivery and stock management (mainly, laundry, cleaning materials, and bedrooms supplies) including setting stock levels, checking, counting, storage, reconciliation, and loss investigation.
  • Manage and maintain effective and efficient use of all reception equipment and Hotel systems in line with Company policy.
  • Control and manage all new credit application accounts, sales ledger management, and payment administration.
  • Provide reports as required for hotel management.
  • Adhere to the company's cash control policy and manage and be accountable for the security of cash at all times.
  • Maintain effective communication at all times between the team, hotel manager, and night manager.
  • Supervise and oversee the reception and housekeeping team, issue instructions, and delegate the daily duties fairly. Ensure that all company messages are communicated as required.
  • Complete rotas for your team on a weekly basis. Manage and maintain correct staffing levels in line with targets and business levels.
  • Ensure all members of the team "sign in" and "out" on the time sheets at reception and manage absence and lateness in line with company policy.
  • Complete all required health and safety/fire checks on time.
  • Responsible for the evacuation in case of emergency. Acting as the first point of contact for the team, the guests, and emergency services.
  • Report any security issues to the hotel manager immediately.
  • Take responsibility for extra management tasks as required in the hotel manager's absence.
  • Motivate, train, develop, and assist the receptionists and housekeepers to achieve the company's mission statement.
  • Ensure that all company policies and legislation regarding licensing, trading standards, customs and excise, food hygiene, and health and safety are complied with.
  • Ensure you and your team adhere to the company's uniform policy at all times when on duty.
  • Maintain a high level of attendance and timekeeping in line with the rota.
  • Adhere to all Company policies and procedures and report any issues to the line manager immediately.
  • Carry out any reasonable instruction given by any member of the hotel management team or any Wethercentre manager.
  • Maintain continuous development of their personal knowledge and abilities by attending all relevant training courses and completing all workbooks.
