I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

As written by him

I have a varied number of hobbies and interests, including growing chilli peppers in the garden, and playing video games especially Halo and FIFA. I really like music and film especially Inception and The Departed just to name a few. I love sport and will watch pretty much anything. Unfortunately, I do support Tottenham Hotspur and have a season ticket for my sins (Arsenal fans may apply but please have mercy!). Still, if sport isn't your thing, then don't worry, I'm sure we will find something to chat about (maybe not clothes and make-up mind!). I ideally need a carer who is positive, friendly and hardworking. I will always treat a carer with respect and am usually a polite, mild-mannered gentleman. My care is obviously important to me and I have a routine that works. I will need my carer to be genuinely warm-hearted, patient and empathetic. I look forward to working with you.
