Hourly Personal Care Assistant
Complex needs Personal Care Assistant needed in Marlborough, Wiltshire - Immediate start!
We are recruiting on behalf of our client with a spinal cord injury, who is living in her home based in Wiltshire. She is looking for a team of care assistants to provide her with every aspect of daily living support and personal care. This is a fantastic opportunity to really help make a difference to our client's personal achievements.
Location: SN8 Marlborough (Wiltshire)
Start: ASAP
Shift Pattern: Days 8am - 8pm
Rate of Pay & Benefits:
- Rate of Pay: £15 per hour Mon to Fri / £17 per hour Sat & Sun
- Once probation is completed the rate will increase to £17 per hour Mon to Fri / £19 Sat & Sun & £22 per hour on Bank Holidays
- Holidays: 5.6 weeks pro rata
- Nest Pension Scheme
About Our Client
Our client suffered a spinal cord injury and is therefore a full-time wheelchair user. She is looking for a calm and reliable individual to join her team of PAs. This role will encompass all aspects of daily living support and personal care - from washing and cooking to transfers and using medical equipment such as ventilators.
Our client leads an active social life, regularly meeting up with friends and family, as well as running her own business. She lives in her own home, so respect for the house and her privacy are extremely important to her. Prior care experience is desired for this role, however, full training in her particular needs will be provided. A can-do attitude and dynamic personality to work is more important than care experience to our client.

AskJules is looking for someone whose personality and attitude are a great match for our client. You'll be practical, self-motivated, and genuinely interested in complex care, with a strong willingness to learn. The role requires someone who respects professional boundaries, communicates assertively, thinks quickly, and approaches challenges with strong problem-solving skills. Adaptability is key, as you'll be supporting the client to live her life as closely as possible to her pre-injury lifestyle.
Our client needs assistance with:
- Personal Care: Bathing, Dressing, Toileting
- Complex Care: Assistance with transferring, manoeuvring during sleep, etc.
- The use of medical equipment: Tracheostomy, ventilator overnight
- Health Care: Administering medicine, using medical equipment
- Driving: Confident in your ability to safely drive the client's adapted automatic van
- Daily Living: Cooking, Shopping, Admin
- Social Support: Assistance with accompanying our client to any social events
- Housekeeping / Domestic duties: Cleaning, Ironing, Washing
Skills & Requirements
- Automatic UK Manual Driving Licence, as you will be driving our client's adapted vehicle
- A great team player and ready to fit in in a very well-established team
- Fluent in the English Language
- Respectful towards our client's privacy, have an understanding of the need for confidentiality
- Non-Smoker
- Experience working with complex care needs (desirable)
- Able to provide on-call cover for absent colleagues (days, nights, weekends, etc)
- Good computer skills in order to assist our client with any administrative tasks
- Must not have any pet allergies

Training
The successful applicant will undergo bespoke training taught by qualified nurse practitioners. This is ideal for experienced carers looking to take the next step in their career and learn how to effectively deal with complex care needs and intricate medical equipment.
Qualities Our Client is Looking for in an Ideal Applicant:
- Physically fit, active, and presentable
- Reliable and trustworthy
- A mature and responsible attitude
- Well presented and polite
- Have a great sense of humour
- Good organizational skills and being able to work on your own initiative
- Must be eager to learn how to care for someone with high complex care needs
You must hold an Automatic UK Manual Driving Licence as you will be required to drive the client's adapted vehicle.
