Ward 36, Renal Ward in Manchester Royal Infirmary
Ward 36, the renal ward in Manchester Royal Infirmary, is looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Housekeeper to join our team. This is a full-time position to help support the department with housekeeping duties.
About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join Ward 36 as a Housekeeper. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills and will play a key role in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the ward.
The post holder will work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team to maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, stock management, and patient environment, helping to ensure a safe and welcoming setting for patients, visitors, and staff.
Responsibilities
As a Housekeeper, you will lead the unit services such as catering, cleaning, equipment and supplies, and audits. The work can include but is not limited to:
- Talking to and reassuring patients
- Ordering non-clinical supplies
- Keeping the unit clean and tidy
- Preparing snacks and drinks
- Reporting faults and expiration dates of equipment

We are seeking a motivated and committed Housekeeper to join our team. You will be working 37.5 hours per week.
This is an exciting and pivotal role in which you will work closely with the nursing and domestic staff to ensure a safe, clean, and organized clinical environment.
You will take responsibility for ensuring that all medical equipment is clean and well maintained. You will undertake the ordering of stores and equipment on the ward, excellent computer skills are essential for this role. You will be responsible for assisting with obtaining feedback from our patients by using the What Matters To Me tracker and friend and family test. You will also be assisting the team in continuous quality improvement work.
You must be able to empathize with and consider patients as you go about your duties. You will have an organized and positive approach to ensure the tasks at hand are carried out in a timely, effective manner. Able to cope well under pressure, you will utilize excellent communication and team skills.
