Position Title: Housekeeper (Private Residence)

Location: London, United Kingdom

Employment Type: Full-Time, Live-In or Live-Out

Reporting To: Principal / Family Office Representative


Position Overview

A high-net-worth private household based in London is seeking an experienced, professional, and highly discreet Housekeeper to manage the day-to-day upkeep and presentation of a luxury residence. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining exceptionally high housekeeping standards, ensuring the home is immaculate at all times, and providing support to the principals and family members as required. This role requires a proactive individual who takes pride in delivering hotel-standard service within a private family environment.

Applicants must already possess the legal right to work in the United Kingdom and must not require visa sponsorship or a UK work permit.


Key Responsibilities

Housekeeping & Home Management

  • Maintain the residence to the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation.
  • Perform daily cleaning of bedrooms, bathrooms, living areas, kitchens, and common spaces.
  • Manage deep cleaning schedules and seasonal housekeeping requirements.
  • Ensure all household supplies are adequately stocked and replenished.
  • Inspect rooms regularly and identify maintenance issues requiring attention.

Laundry & Wardrobe Care

  • Handle laundry, ironing, steaming, and garment care.
  • Manage delicate fabrics, designer clothing, formal wear, and luxury household linens.
  • Organize wardrobes, closets, dressing rooms, and storage areas.
  • Coordinate specialist cleaning services when required.

Household Operations

  • Set up rooms and living spaces for family use and guest arrivals.
  • Assist with table setting and light hospitality service when required.
  • Coordinate with contractors, maintenance providers, and household staff.
  • Monitor inventories and household expenses related to housekeeping supplies.

Guest & Family Support

  • Prepare guest rooms and ensure readiness for visitors.
  • Support family events and gatherings as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all aspects of the family's personal and professional affairs.
  • Assist with ad hoc household duties in a flexible and professional manner.

Candidate Requirements

Essential

  • Previous experience working in a private residence for HNW/UHNW families, luxury hotels, private estates, embassies, or VIP households.
  • Minimum 3 to 8 years of housekeeping experience.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Experience caring for luxury furnishings, antiques, artwork, and high-value household items.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Professional appearance and excellent personal presentation.
  • Strong communication skills in English.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality.

Preferred

  • Experience working within formal households.
  • Additional languages are advantageous.
  • Experience supporting principals who travel frequently.
  • Knowledge of household management software and inventory systems.
